| Who is Marianne DeMartin? |
| |
Marianne is many things to many people but most importantly, she is part of a large, loving family. The oldest of 5 children, Mar grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ and attended Cherry Hill East High School, graduating in 1971. She went on to James Madison University and graduated in 1975. Mar's parents spend their time in Florida and Cherry Hill, NJ. Marianne has 3 sisters and 1 brother and 8 nieces and nephews. Marianne loves all dogs and her beloved Sophie is always with her.
Mar loves all her nieces and nephews, and especially enjoys watching them in their sports. She loves driving to the Jersey shore, solving the Sunday cryptograms (she is a whiz), Phillies baseball, the Harry Potter books (and movies), Starbucks coffee (with a shot of espresso), her dog Sophie, and playing golf with her mom and dad. She will tell you a funny story about how she once met Paul McCartney unexpectedly in an airport or her adventure on her first trip to Paris.
Professionally Mar is an icon in the women's retail fashion industry. Marianne worked for too many names to remember but probably is most noted for her time at Victoria's Secret and more recently, White House/Black Market. She originally worked for the lingerie side of the Victoria's Secret business but went to the fragrance side and helped to build that brand. She left after a management change, as many do at her level, and worked for a variety of companies until settling in at White House/Black Market. At WH/BM, Mar is a regional manager covering most of eastern half of the United States. She is a superstar for her company which is now owned by Chico's. Marianne can not walk through any airport in America without running into someone who either once worked for her, who she mentored in some way, or was a colleague of in her many years in the retail fashion industry.
Marianne is sorely missed by her family and friends who love her very much. Please help us find Mar. |
